Cooperation between lifeforms is the foundation to Earth’s habitability, the energy flow system makes this clear, because all of the Earth’s residents are connected by this system. This knowledge is a product of our countless scientific researches and brings with it a certain responsibility. But knowing is just a first step to an action, as we’ll have to change our behavior according to the now predictable consequences. A more sophisticated symbiosis between humans and the natural world is inevitable, but not an easy task for an organism that has been rivalling amongst its own kind for a very long time. Power lies in cooperation, so let’s keep on growing friends.

Samenwerking tussen levensvormen is de basis voor de bewoonbaarheid van de aarde, het energiestroom systeem maakt dit duidelijk, omdat alle bewoners van de aarde door dit systeem met elkaar zijn verbonden. Deze kennis is een product van onze talloze wetenschappelijke onderzoeken en brengt een zekere verantwoordelijkheid met zich mee. Maar weten is slechts een eerste stap naar een actie, omdat we ons gedrag zullen moeten aanpassen aan de nu voorspelbare gevolgen. Een meer verfijnde symbiose tussen de mens en de natuurlijke wereld is onvermijdelijk, maar geen gemakkelijke taak voor een organisme dat al heel lang wedijvert met zijn eigen soort. De kracht ligt in samenwerking, dus laten we vrienden blijven maken.

Artist statement

Admires all of our experiences as pieces of our realities. Patterns of nature and growth. The veiny texture of a leaf. The taste of a green tea leaf. The knowledge of microscopic parts of matter and the overwhelming complexity when scoped out. The warmth of a sweater. The pit of dissonance. And the search for harmony.
From simple illustrations to deep dives into intricate subjects, with a bag of tools, a keen eye for detail and a cup of tea he can help carve a path towards a desired dream. Collecting and combining diverse materials, techniques, styles and themes is his pleasure, however Matěj holds nature, surreal and fantasy concepts close to his heart.
Next to creative work, Matěj loves gardening, animals and gaming. He is an average cook and enjoys tasting unfamiliar foods. Avoids meat, but can't resist tasty cheese or a delicious cake.

Have worked in an animation studio.
Generate a bunch of posters for concerts or other events.
Paint a couple of canvases.
Create some album or book covers.
Conjure a few editorials for science and philosophy topics.
Produce concept art for a game or movie studio.
Make art for a Magic card.
Promote care for our planet.
Design a ceramic dish set.

Learned during the studies

The most important lesson I've learned during my study was that organization is more valuable than that little line in a corner of a single frame.
