As a creative I always play on feelings, often from my own head and heart.
I then try to transfer this to a 'fixed' form, so that it can also be understood by others and perhaps can function as an 'eye opener' or a shoulder to cry on.

Out of a fascination for moving storytelling, an idea for a dance choreography quickly came out.
Supported by a catchy and emotional music track, artistic camera techniques and a surprise of spoken word, I want to take this film to a higher level than a regular dance registration.

By telling a story of two people and their love for each other, the difficulties and fears that come with it, but also the connection that comes when you love someone, I want to try to take the audience on an emotional roller coaster in which they find themselves and can identify with the actors.

Whether this is with your partner, a family member, a friend. We all experience holding onto, letting go, losing or receiving love in any form.
We, whoever you are, can share the pain and happiness with each other.

With this we connect as humanity, only sometimes it is necessary to be reminded of that.

Tenir L'amour (Holding onto Love) is made for this.

So that together, we can let each other know that no matter what you're feeling, you're never truly 100% alone.

Artist statement

Things that are difficult to talk about, but everybody experience,
that’s where I get my inspiration.

Because it's difficult to express emotions,
I try to translate those emotions into a labyrinth of words, that often don’t provide enough information separately, but when you put them together, a story arises, that we can identify with.

I believe that this is my strength, go back to these words and core feelings, and with that, form my visual story.

Ambitions

I don't really have a 5 year plan, I'd like to have work that makes me happy. Work in which I can try doing different things as editing but also direct or do art direction.

The only thing I would like to do is make a live performance of this piece instead of only a movie.

Learned during the studies

The most important things i learned were thinking about design decisions I made. Question the why, how and what I want to share with my audience. I also learned to get more in touch with my feelings, trying to understand them to use them as an inspiration for my work.
